Visualistic Signing Choir
About us
Visualistic, formerly The Derby Community Signing Choir was set up in September 2013 and since then it has grown from strength to strength.
In 2015, we won the Billy Dorkins Memorial Trophy at the Jersey Eisteddfod after being crowned the top Signing Choir in the UK at the competition.
Our aim is to make music accessible for everyone, both Deaf and Hearing.
Deaf people can follow our music because the songs we sign are well known songs both modern and classics which are translated into British Sign Language.
Hearing people love watching how we tell the story behind the songs using British Sign Language and enabling them to create a visual image to go with the music they are hearing.
We perform regularly at Community Events both in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
Our members mostly have British Sign Language Level one qualification, but we welcome new members of all ages and all abilities, if you do not have any Signing skills, you will definitely pick some up by joining our group!
Should you be tempted to join us or wish to see what we're about, please use the contact us page.
